The second collection

HAUNTED 2.0: The Witching Hour

A second assemblage of relics, and a darker source. This one goes back to the Scottish witch trials.

Season status. The Witching Hour played its Adelaide Fringe season, which has now concluded. Kevin performs HAUNTED every Thursday at The Lost Dice all year round, and details of the next Fringe season will be posted here when they are confirmed.

The show

Do you dare believe in spirits? Scottish storyteller and master of the macabre, Kevin Kopfstein, returns from the shadows with a new assemblage of haunted and accursed relics from his eerie collection. These hauntiques are steeped in the whispers of the supernatural. Step into the dark echoes of the 17th-century Scottish Witch Trials, where the air was thick with fear, curses, and the forbidden arts of necromancy. Listen as the voices of the damned rise once more, clawing at the veil between worlds. Enter, if you dare… and face the spirits that linger still.Official show description

How it differs from the weekly show

The Thursday night HAUNTED show ranges widely across Kevin's collection: vampire hunting kits, voodoo dolls, cemetery padlocks, haunted dolls, each with its own history. The Witching Hour narrows the focus. It takes one dark seam of Scottish history, the witch trials of the 16th and 17th centuries, and stays inside it for the full hour.

That makes it a heavier, more sustained piece. There is still magic and there is still the collection, but the through-line is the trials themselves: the accusations, the confessions extracted under pressure, and what people believed was happening in the room when they made them.

If you want the historical background, we wrote about it in the Scottish witch trials and what really happened.
